Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Here is a picture Sean took of me on Thursday at 22 Weeks. Can't believe Baby McZimm will be here in just 4 months!!!
Sean and I had our 18 week anatomy ultrasound on Wednesday and were so excited to find out that Baby McZimm is a boy!!!!! More importantly than that, however, the ultrasound tech checked all of Baby McZimm's body parts and organs to make sure he is developing correctly and she said Baby McZimm looks very healthy! We saw his spine, the bones in his arms and legs, his stomach, kidneys, and all four chambers of his heart which was beating like crazy! She also measured his head, his abdomen, and his thigh to make sure he was growing proportionally, which he thankfully is.
Once again our baby was moving around during the ultrasound, but instead of turning to face the camera every time, he was apparently camera shy and turned away from the camera every time the tech moved the ultrasound wand. When she tried to look at his spine he flipped around and showed his belly. So then she'd try to get a picture of his heart and he would flip around again. Fortunately the tech was very patient, and we got all the pictures she needed. The only picture we weren't able to get was a good one of his face. We have a couple profile shots, but every time he faced the camera directly he would put his little hands up in front of his face and block our view! At the end he decided to use the placenta as a pillow so we couldn't get a 3D photograph either. That is ok though, I always think those are kind of creepy. I guess he wants to keep his cute little face a surprise until we meet him in person which is fine with us! :)

Sean and I are so excited to announce that we have a baby on the way! Baby McZimm is due on June 17, 2010, and we couldn't be happier. I am currently 17.5 weeks, or about 4 months pregnant, and we will get to find out if we are having a boy or a girl a week from Wednesday. Here are some ultrasound pictures taken back in December at 12 weeks. Baby McZimm was doing a lot of water aerobics during the sonogram! He/she kept flipping around to face the camera, so it took some patience for the ultrasound tech to get these pictures. We got to see the heartbeat, and our baby was wiggling around, putting her/his hand up to his/her mouth (presumably to suck it's thumb), and jumping and stretching around in general. One minute Baby McZimm was facing my stomach, the next minute Baby McZimm flipped around and was facing my back! It was so amazing!
